The mission of UTHealth centers on advancing patient care, education, and research. Our legacy of excellence is maintained through the dedication and work of faculty members such as Dr. Jorge Salazar, whose translational research is redefining cardiovascular care for children.
Dr. Salazar is Professor and Chief of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. He currently serves as Co-Director of the Children's Heart Center at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital, Professor and Chief of the Division of Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery, and John P. and Kathrine G. McGovern Distinguished Chair at McGovern Medical School. Dr. Salazar is an accomplished investigator involved in evaluating novel therapies to treat complex congenital heart defects.
His goal is to create and disseminate innovative strategies to offer solutions to all children with congenital heart disease. In particular, he hopes to offer biventricular repairs to children born with defects traditionally treated as single ventricles. Because of his novel approaches to treating heart defects, children and their families have gone on to experience life in ways they never before imagined.
Your support of any amount will help further life-changing work in the field of pediatric cardiovascular surgery so more children can experience high-quality lives.
