The Academy at MD Anderson UTHealth Houston Graduate School provides support to graduate students training to become the next generation of biomedical science leaders. Starting with a pre-matriculation summer boot camp, Academy scholars learn how to bolster their success in graduate school. These students enhance their academic and professional skills—such as time management, effective scientific communication, and data analysis skills—in supplemental workshops and activities throughout the year. Individualized mentoring enables Academy scholars to receive personalized guidance, and a peer group provides social support.
