Our program trains and empowers the next generation of doctors to care for children from diverse backgrounds, like immigrants and refugees, and to work in places that lack access to quality healthcare, such as disaster zones or impoverished regions.
One of our newest trainees, Dr. Nikki Dagdag, said it best: “The UTHealth Houston Global Health Program has provided me with a plethora of opportunities to pursue my passion for global health advocacy…and has opened my eyes to current global health issues and strategies to promote optimal treatment in our pediatric patients.”
YOU can help us train more doctors to care for these vulnerable patient populations! Better yet, thanks to a generous matching donor, every dollar you give towards our program will be doubled today!

Scholarships for Global Health Electives
Residents can gain first-hand experience practicing in low-resource areas when they visit one of our partner sites throughout the world.
These events are interactive sessions where our residents are taught practical hands-on skills necessary for work in low-resourced areas, learning how to dress burns, treat malnutrition, and so much more!
Ultrasound machines are extremely useful in global health settings where many other tests are unavailable. Our program hopes to buy a portable probe to provide crucial information without any cost the patients – a win-win for our global health work!
