Student Support at SBMI

The health care revolution of tomorrow begins with students today—gifted learners on the road to becoming the informatics experts whose work will change lives by molding a more effective and efficient health system.

When you support our students—whether through scholarships or special student assistance funds—you help future health leaders focus on their studies rather than financial burdens. Your gift of any size will bring them one step closer to their goals.

SBMI Student Assistance Fund
At the School of Biomedical Informatics, our students are learning how to use big data and artificial intelligence to make health care a better, safer experience for patients everywhere. But sometimes, external circumstances—like the COVID-19 pandemic and February’s Winter Storm Uri—can bring unexpected financial stress. Your gift to the Student Assistance Fund will provide emergency funding to help our students overcome any challenges and continue pursuing their education.

The Bridges Family Doctoral Fellowship in Informatics Innovation
At the School of Biomedical Informatics, our doctoral candidates are hard at work using big data and artificial intelligence to improve health care. With a gift to the Bridges Family Doctoral Fellowship in Informatics Innovation, you can help top students enhance patient care and propel the field of informatics forward.

The Merrill and Joe Hafner Doctoral Fellowship
The path to a doctoral degree at the School of Biomedical Informatics is filled with exciting research opportunities and academic experiences. Your support of the Merrill and Joe Hafner Doctoral Fellowship will help reduce the financial burden of tuition and allow top students focus on their academic journey.
