Global Health Program

The Global Health program at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston addresses health disparities within multiple Houston communities and in over 26 countries worldwide by working to improve health outcomes for marginalized populations. Our efforts in global health are grounded in the principles of health equity for all and aim to enhance awareness of the unique healthcare needs of diverse populations.

By supporting our efforts, you will enable us to continue life-changing work including:

  • Expanding surgical services in rural areas of Brazil and Kenya
  • Strengthening medical and women’s services in Guatemala
  • Leading ultrasound trainings in Ecuador, Vietnam, and Ukraine
  • Hosting international medical students from around the world
  • Serving Houston’s refugees & immigrants through education & health fairs
  • Exposing our students to global medicine and healthcare systems
  • Strengthening pediatric services in Ghana, Kenya, Togo, and Honduras
  • Providing specialized testing for rare diseases in Mexico
  • Researching innovative approaches to combat global diseases
